El CMI participará en las próximas celebraciones del Día Internacional de la Fraternidad Humana

El secretario general interino del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), Rev. Prof. Dr. Ioan Sauca, ha invitado a la comunidad mundial del CMI a unirse a las celebraciones del Día Internacional de la Fraternidad Humana el 4 de febrero mediante la oración y la reflexión, instando a que “oremos todos por la visión y la fuerza que necesitamos para fomentar el diálogo interreligioso e intercultural” y a que “afirmemos juntos que la tolerancia, el respeto mutuo y la diversidad de religiones y creencias promueven la fraternidad humana”.

God of compassion and solidarity, we come together as people with open hearts...

This week in the Ecumenical Prayer Cycle, we are praying with the people and churches of  Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Western Sahara, Tunisia.

This order of service for the World Interfaith Harmony Week makes use of material from the document Serving a Wounded World in Interreligious Solidarity: A Christian Call to Reflection and Action During the COVID-19 Pandemic and Beyond, jointly produced by the World Council of Churches and the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue.

Prayers were prepared in cooperation with the Lutheran World Federation.

Joint Interfaith Statement on the Entry into Force of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons

As the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons enters into force on 22 January, the World Council of Churches joined other global faith communities in welcoming the groundbreaking moment. A joint statement endorsed by 156 organizations celebrated the milestone and, at the same time, noted that there is urgent work yet to be done to ensure a nuclear weapons-free world.

Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, WCC explore how to share more widely “Serving a Wounded World”

Gathering for an annual meeting from 19-20 January, the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue and World Council of Churches Office of Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation discussed ways of sharing more widely the document “Serving a Wounded World in Interreligious Solidarity: A Christian Call to Reflection and Action During COVID-19 and Beyond,” which was co-produced by the two offices in 2020.

Al servicio de un mundo herido en solidaridad interreligiosa

Un llamado cristiano a la reflexión y a la acción durante la covid-19 y más allá

The World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue (PCID) released a joint document, “Serving a Wounded World in Interreligious Solidarity: A Christian Call to Reflection and Action During COVID-19.” Its purpose is to encourage churches and Christian organizations to reflect on the importance of interreligious solidarity in a world wounded by the COVID-19 pandemic. The document offers a Christian basis for interreligious solidarity that can inspire and confirm the impulse to serve a world wounded not only by COVID-19 but also by many other wounds.
