Le Rassemblement œcuménique des jeunes du 27 août a contribué à lancer la 11e assemblée du Conseil œcuménique des Églises dans un esprit de prière, de danse et de chant avec plus de 200 jeunes réunis dans l’Église Saint-Étienne de Karlsruhe, en Allemagne, pour appeler de leurs vœux une assemblée inclusive.

Am 27. August trug ein Ökumenisches Treffen junger Erwachsenen dazu bei, in einem Geist des Betens, Tanzens und Singens die 11. Vollversammlung des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen einzuleiten. Über 200 junge Menschen versammelten sich in der Kirche St. Stephan in Karlsruhe, Deutschland, um die bevorstehende Vollversammlung als inklusiv zu erklären.

An Ecumenical Youth Gathering held 27 August helped to usher in the World Council of Churches 11th Assembly with a spirit of praying, dancing, and singing, as more than 200 young people drew together at St Stephen’s Church in Karlsruhe, Germany, to assert an inclusive assembly ahead.

Cuatro preasambleas del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) están a punto de reunirse y atraerán a cientos de personas ansiosas por compartir, en un espacio seguro, sus reflexiones honestas y desafíos vitales. Las preasambleas que se celebrarán son: la Preasamblea de los pueblos indígenas, el Encuentro Ecuménico de la Juventud, la Preasamblea de la Red Ecuménica de Defensa de las Personas con Discapacidad y la Preasamblea de “Una comunidad justa de mujeres y hombres”.

Vier vorbereitende Tagungen zur Vollversammlung des Ökumenischen Rats der Kirchen (ÖRK) stehen in den Startlöchern, um mehreren Hundert Menschen, die sich aufrichtig über ihre Überlegungen und Lebensherausforderungen austauschen möchten, einen sicheren Raum zu geben. Dazu gehören die vorbereitende Tagung der indigenen Völker, das Ökumenische Treffen junger Menschen, die Tagung des Ökumenischen Aktionsbündnis von und für Menschen mit Behinderungen und die Tagung zu gerechten Gemeinschaften für Frauen und Männer.

Four World Council of Churches (WCC) pre-assemblies are about to convene, drawing hundreds of people eager to, in a safe space, share their honest reflections and life challenges. The pre-assemblies include Indigenous Peoples, Ecumenical Youth Gathering, Ecumenical Disability Advocates Network, and Just Community of Women and Men.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) has newly published an “Ecumenical International Youth Day Toolkit: Indigenous Youth and Land Rights Activism.” The book is designed to help people reflect, advocate, and pray about the challenges and learn more about the wisdom of Indigenous Peoples.

The Ecumenical Youth Gathering to be held on 27-30 August before the World Council of Churches (WCC) 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe, Germany, aims to bring together around 400 young people from various churches and ecumenical partners to discuss a common message. The event is designed to provide an opportunity for young people to participate in intergenerational dialogue and develop a more inclusive agenda for the movement.

In 1895, student leaders from ten North American and European countries met at Vadstena Castle in Sweden to form the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF). Among its founders were John R. Mott (US), Karl Fries (Sweden), Martin Eckhoff (Norway), Luther D. Wishard (US), Johannes Siemsen (Germany), and J. Rutter Williamson (UK). The WSCF was the first international student organization and together with YMCA and YWCA, it is one of the oldest youth movements still in existence. 

During a 26 June service, participants from all over the world celebrated the 127th anniversary of the World Student Christian Federation in an 18th-century baroque church, Sophienkirche in Berlin, Germany.

The 37th Word Student Christian Federation  (WSCF) General Assembly officially kicked off  in Berlin with the theme, "Rejoice in Hope" (Romans 12:12), and a sub-theme of "Young People, Journeying Together Toward Justice and Peace.” Over 100 movements from 94 countries will attend this year’s assembly along with senior friends, partners, and guests from 24 -30 June.

World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca shared greetings with the 37th Session of the World Student Christian Federation General Assembly, which will be held in Berlin from 23 June to 1 July.

World Council of Churches (WCC) specialized ministries and roundtable partners are gathering on 3-4 May at the Bossey Ecumenical Institute for a “Working Together” meeting filled with a spirit of interconnected learning and preparation for the WCC 11th Assembly.

El pasado 1 de abril, al dar comienzo el evento híbrido de presentación del libro “Let the waves roar” (“Que rujan las olas”) con objeto de dar a conocer de manera más profunda esta publicación de la juventud, el secretario general en funciones del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), Rev. Prof. Dr. Ioan Sauca, dio la bienvenida a todas las personas que participaron diciendo: “Estoy muy agradecido de contar con esta nueva publicación que incluye las perspectivas de jóvenes voces proféticas en el movimiento ecuménico, especialmente en estos momentos en los que se aproxima la celebración de la 11ª Asamblea”.

Zur Eröffnung einer hybriden Veranstaltung anlässlich der Veröffentlichung der neusten Publikation des ÖRK-Jugendreferats „Let the waves roar“ am 1. April, bei der sich Interessierte eingehender mit den Inhalten besagter Publikation auseinandergesetzt haben, hat der geschäftsführende Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK), Priester Prof. Dr. Ioan Sauca, die Teilnehmenden begrüßt und gesagt: „Ich bin sehr dankbar für diese neue Publikation; sie legt Blickwinkel von jungen prophetischen Stimmen in der ökumenischen Bewegung dar und das ist besonders wichtig, da die 11. ÖRK-Vollversammlung immer näher rückt.“
