Le Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) apporte prières et expertise lors de la 23^e session de l’Instance permanente des Nations unies sur les questions autochtones, qui se tient à New York du 15 au 26 avril.

Au nom de ses Églises membres, le secrétaire général du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE), le pasteur Jerry Pillay, a affirmé que le COE ne pouvait pas réconcilier le décret du XXV^e Conseil mondial du peuple russe, qualifiant le conflit en Ukraine de «guerre sainte».

World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay, on behalf of WCC member churches, said that the WCC cannot reconcile the Decree of the XXV World Russian People's Council describing the conflict in Ukraine as a “Holy War.” 

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is bringing prayers and expertise to the 23rd session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Peoples, which is running in New York from 15-26 April.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphany of Kyiv and All Ukraine visited the World Council of Churches (WCC) on 10 April at the request of the WCC general secretary, the Rev. On the second anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, World Council of Churches general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay lamented the destruction of so many lives and called for an immediate end to the conflict.

Rev. Dr Walter Altmann, who served as moderator of the World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee between the 9th and 10th assemblies celebrated 80 years of age on 4 February.
