His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphany of Kyiv and All Ukraine visited the World Council of Churches (WCC) on 10 April at the request of the WCC general secretary, the Rev. Prof Dr Jerry Pillay, to discuss the current situation in Ukraine, the role of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine (OCU) in working toward peace, the continued involvement of the WCC in addressing the war, and the process for membership with the WCC.

WCC condemns attacks against aid workers in southeast Ukraine

World Council of Churches general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay expressed shock upon receiving the news of the deaths of two aid workers in an attack that injured three others, all from the non-governmental organization HEKS/EPER, on 1 February in southern Ukraine. 

ÖRK verurteilt russische Terrorkampagne gegen ukrainische Bevölkerung

Der Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK), Pastor Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, verurteilte die anhaltende russische Terrorkampagne gegen die Menschen in der Ukraine scharf, „ein weiteres Beispiel davon sind die gestrigen Raketenangriffe auf mehrere ukrainische Städte, bei denen mindestens 30 Menschen starben und über 160 Personen verwundet wurden“, sagte er.
