The translations expand the resource for expression by local, regional and global gatherings throughout the year. As the introduction explains, “This book was designed for use in prayer groups, congregational services, personal prayer, and in the pastoral accompaniment of those directly affected in different ways by the pandemic.”
The publication offers prayers from across the world representing diverse denominations. A special section also includes information for action by churches, communities and individuals who want to make a difference for the most vulnerable in their societies.
In the section “Prayers for Hurting and Suffering Communities,” we are invited to pray: “Eternal God, as we come before you on this day, our souls waiting in silence, we place our hope in you, our rock, our salvation, our refuge.”
