A webinar on 18 October remembered past massacres in the Pacific, honoring the legacy and resilience of the victims. Speakers reflected on past massacres in Samoa, the Marshall Islands, and Kanaky, all of which took place during colonial times or during occupation.

As the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to journalists Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov, World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca congratulated them and expressed solidarity with their ongoing fight for justice and peace.

Prof. Dr. Ioan Sauca, felicitó a los galardonados y expresó su solidaridad con su lucha constante por la justicia y la paz. 

À l’annonce de l’attribution du prix Nobel de la paix à deux journalistes, Maria Ressa et Dmitry Muratov, le père Ioan Sauca, secrétaire général par intérim du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE), leur a adressé ses félicitations et a exprimé sa solidarité avec leur lutte constante pour la justice et la paix.

Nach der Verleihung des Friedensnobelpreises an die Journalistin Maria Ressa und ihren Kollegen Dmitri Muratow gratulierte ihnen der geschäftsführende Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK), Priester Prof. Dr. Ioan Sauca, zu dieser Würdigung und erklärte sich solidarisch mit ihrem anhaltenden Kampf für Gerechtigkeit und Frieden.

Bei einem für den 13.-15. September geplanten internationalen Symposium werden Fragen erörtert, mit denen wir eine gerechtere digitale Zukunft gestalten können, eine Zukunft, die „zunehmend vertieftes Reflektieren und neue Denkweisen in Philosophie, Ethik, Rechtswissenschaft und Theologie fordert,“ sagte der geschäftsführende Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK) Priester Prof. Dr. Ioan Sauca.

Del próximo día 13 al 15 de septiembre se celebrará un simposio internacional que abordará cuestiones fundamentales para ayudarnos a esbozar un futuro digital más justo; un futuro que, según afirma el secretario general en funciones del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), Rev. Prof. Dr. Ioan Sauca, “nos incita más que nunca a una reflexión más profunda y a replantearnos nuestra forma de pensar en términos de filosofía, ética, jurisprudencia y teología”.

Du 13 au 15 septembre prochains, un symposium international étudiera des questions clés pour nous aider à dessiner un avenir numérique plus juste. Un avenir qui, selon le père Ioan Sauca, secrétaire général par intérim du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE), «nous impose plus que jamais d’approfondir notre réflexion et de repenser la philosophie, l’éthique, la jurisprudence et la théologie».
