Únase a la oración de Pascua por la paz y la reunificación de la península de Corea

El Consejo Nacional de Iglesias de Corea (NCCK, por sus siglas en inglés) ha publicado la “Oración de Pascua 2023 por la paz y la reunificación de la península coreana”, una celebración anual que este año reviste un significado especial al cumplirse setenta años desde el alto el fuego de la Guerra de Corea establecido por el Acuerdo de Armisticio de 1953.

Pilgrims accompany Korean women’s struggles with fallout of 70-year war

A Women of Faith Pilgrim Team gathered, some in person and others virtually, in South Korea from 13-15 July. They were there to listen and accompany Korean church women as they called for an end to patriarchy – manifested in the Japanese colonization of Korea and establishment of ‘comfort women’ and also in the Korean War — and to the resulting pain and injustice that remains a grim daily reality for many today.

US-Veteranen arbeiten für Frieden auf der geteilten Halbinsel

Über das gesamte Jahr 2020 engagiert sich der Ökumenische Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK) gemeinsam mit dem Nationalen Kirchenrat von Korea in einer globalen Gebetskampagne unter dem Motto „Wir beten für Frieden jetzt, beendet den Krieg“. U.S. veterans work for peace on divided Korean peninsula

Throughout 2020, the World Council of Churches (WCC), together with the National Council of Churches in Korea, has been observing a Global Prayer Campaign,“We Pray, Peace Now, End the War.” As part of the campaign, the WCC is sharing personal stories and interviews that inspire others to work for peace. The story below features the perspective of U.S. war veterans, all of whom are also featured in video interviews.

Los veteranos estadounidenses trabajan por la paz en la península coreana dividida

A lo largo de 2020, el Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) y el Consejo Nacional de Iglesias de Corea han seguido la campaña mundial de oración “We pray, Peace Now, End the War” (Oramos: paz ahora, fin a la guerra). En el marco de esa campaña, el CMI difunde historias personales y entrevistas que sirven de inspiración para trabajar por la paz. La historia que se presenta a continuación refleja la perspectiva de los veteranos de guerra estadounidenses, quienes aparecen también en las entrevistas que muestran los videos.
