The World Council of Churches morning prayer on 22 April was focused on Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, solemnly marking the 11th anniversary of the abduction of archbishops of Aleppo.

La Sexta Conferencia Mundial de Fe y Constitución del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) –que conmemorará el 1700º aniversario del Primer Concilio Ecuménico de Nicea– tendrá lugar en Egipto en octubre de 2025 por invitación de la Iglesia Ortodoxa Copta. 

The Sixth World Conference on Faith and Order of the World Council of Churches (WCC), marking the 1700th anniversary of the first Ecumenical Council of Nicaea, is to take place in Egypt in October 2025 at the invitation of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

Iranian rector Ayatollah M. Seyyed Abolhassan Nawab and Ms Zahra Sedigh, from the Iranian Mission to the UN, visited the World Council of Churches (WCC) on 27 July, discussing education and formation, as well as the importance of strengthening the role of interreligious cooperation.  

A Global Peace Prayer on 22 March will draw Christians together in hope for a better future. A communique from a prayer planning committee explained that Christians are called into prayer and advocacy for peace. “In a global context where war and violence abound, the practice of peace has become even more urgent,” reads the message.

La oración mundial por la paz, el 22 de marzo, unirá a los cristianos con esperanza en un futuro mejor. En un comunicado, el comité de planificación de oraciones explicó que los cristianos están llamados a orar por la paz y a promover la paz. “En un contexto mundial en que abundan las guerras y la violencia, la práctica de la paz es aún más urgente”, dice el mensaje.

El Consejo de Iglesias de Oriente Medio, con sede en Beirut (Líbano), ha convocado al grupo de redacción de la Semana de Oración por la Unidad de los Cristianos 2022. El CMI y el Vaticano han publicado ahora el material en varios idiomas.

The Middle East Council of Churches, based in Beirut, Lebanon, has been the convener for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2022 drafting group. The World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Vatican have now published the material in several languages.
