Der Ökumenische Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK) hat für 2024 neues Personal eingestellt und eine Direktorin und zwei Direktoren für seine neuen Kommissionen ernannt. ÖRK-Generalsekretär Pastor Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay begrüßte sie herzlich zur Aufnahme ihrer Tätigkeit in ihrem jeweiligen Wirkungsbereich.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) has made new staff appointments during 2024, including three new commission directors. WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay warmly greeted them as they began to serve in their particular ministries.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) hosted Bishop Dr Jukka Keskitalo and Rev. Pekka Mustakallio from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, to discuss the ecumenical agenda of 2023 and the harvesting of the WCC 11 th assembly, as well a group from the Centre for Ecumenism of the Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau, and 21 ordinands from the Church of Sweden.

The World Council of Churches’ presence in the Kirchentag’s exhibition space “Market of Opportunities” (hall 9, stand 9-C32) enables lively encounters and an opportunity to learn more about the ecumenical movement.

Am 17. Mai 2023 hat sich eine ÖRK-Delegation, bestehend aus Generalsekretär Pastor Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, dem Direktor der Kommission für Internationale Angelegenheiten, Herrn Peter Prove, und dem Programmreferenten der Kommission für Ökumenische Beziehungen, Glauben und Kirchenverfassung, Dr. Vasile-Octavian Mihoc, in Moskau mit Seiner Heiligkeit Patriarch Kyrill getroffen, dem Primus der Russisch-Orthodoxen Kirche.

On 17 May 2023 in Moscow, a WCC delegation consisting of general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay, director for International Affairs Mr Peter Prove, and programme executive for Ecumenical Relations and Faith and Order Dr Vasile-Octavian Mihoc met with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, head of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Participating in a Ökumenetag (ecumenical day) in Karlsruhe, Germany, on 22 April, former World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Fr Ioan Sauca reflected back on the WCC 11th Assembly, and expressed deep gratitude to the host churches.
