Der Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK), Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, ist am 17. Februar mit Jerusalemer Patriarchen und Kirchenoberhäuptern zusammengekommen; er würde „in dieser für alle Menschen in der Region und insbesondere für die christlichen Gläubigen im Heiligen Land schwierigen und komplizierten Zeit“ mit großer Dankbarkeit empfangen, wie es Seine Seligkeit Theophilos III, der Patriarch von Jerusalem, in seiner Begrüßungsansprache formulierte.

WCC condemns attacks against aid workers in southeast Ukraine

World Council of Churches general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay expressed shock upon receiving the news of the deaths of two aid workers in an attack that injured three others, all from the non-governmental organization HEKS/EPER, on 1 February in southern Ukraine.
