The 5th Ecumenical Pilgrimage for Climate Justice from Poland to Glasgow crossed the English Channel from IJmuiden in the Netherlands to Newcastle-upon-Tyne in England on 11 October. They were given a warm welcome on site. 

Dr Agnes Abuom, moderator of the World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee, shared a message with the Conference of the World Council of Religious Leaders on Faith and Diplomacy: Generations in Dialogue, being held 4-7 October in Lindau, Germany.

During an ecumenical service in Aachen Cathedral, on 28 August, Protestant and Roman Catholic churches in Germany as well as the churches affiliated to the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christlicher Kirchen (Working Group of Christian Churches) will jointly remember and honor the victims of the floods that severely hit the region.

In a video message, moderator of the World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee Dr Agnes Abuom bid goodbye and expressed deep appreciation to Rev. Prof. Dr h.c. Cornelia Füllkrug-Weitzel, who is retiring as president of "Brot für die Welt" and "Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe" after leading the German charity for 20 years. Füllkrug-Weitzel is also a WCC Thursdays in Black ambassador.

In einer Videobotschaft verabschiedete sich die Vorsitzende des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK), Dr. Agnes Abuom, von Pastorin Prof. Dr. h.c. Cornelia Füllkrug-Weitzel und würdigte ihren Einsatz und ihr Engagement. Cornelia hat die Hilfswerke Brot für die Welt und Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe als Direktorin und Präsidentin 20 Jahre geleitet und geht jetzt in den Ruhestand. Füllkrug-Weitzel ist ebenfalls ÖRK-Botschafterin für Donnerstags in Schwarz.

En un mensaje de vídeo, la Dra. Agnes Abuom, moderadora del Comité Central del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), expresó su profundo agradecimiento a la Rev. Prof. Dra. h.c. Cornelia Füllkrug-Weitzel, con motivo de su jubilación como presidenta de Pan para el Mundo (Brot für die Welt) y Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe, tras haber estado al frente de la caridad alemana durante 20 años. Füllkrug-Weitzel también es embajadora de la campaña Jueves de negro.

Dans un message vidéo, Agnes Abuom, modératrice du Comité central du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) a salué et remercié chaleureusement la pasteure Cornelia Füllkrug-Weitzel, qui a été présidente des organisations caritatives «Brot für die Welt» (Pain pour le monde) et «Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe» pendant 20 ans, et qui prend sa retraite. La pasteure Füllkrug-Weitzel est également ambassadrice des Jeudis en noir du COE.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) assembly planned for 2022 in Germany is an opportunity to confront past injustice and trauma and to work for reconciliation and unity, according to the moderator of the WCC central committee, Dr Agnes Abuom.

Der dritte Ökumenische Kirchentag in Deutschland war ursprünglich als Großanlass für zehntausende Teilnehmende in Frankfurt geplant, wurde aber aufgrund der COVID-19-Pandemie in eine „digitale und dezentrale“ Veranstaltung umgewandelt. Eröffnet wurde sie mit einem Aufruf für Christinnen und Christen, ihre Spaltungen zu überwinden.

Originally planned to gather tens of thousands of participants in Frankfurt but reshaped as a “digital and decentralized” event because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Germany’s third Ecumenical Kirchentag (church convention) has opened with a call for a Christians to overcome their divisions.

Un singular simposio internacional, titulado “Comunicación para la justicia social en la era digital”, ofrecerá la oportunidad de explorar nuevas visiones para promover la justicia digital, el espacio público y medidas que marquen la diferencia.

Un symposium international unique en son genre, intitulé "Communication pour la justice sociale à l'ère numérique", permettra de se pencher sur les nouvelles formes de la justice numérique, de l'espace public et sur les actions qui feront la différence. 

A one-of-a-kind international symposium—“Communication for Social Justice in the Digital Age”—will offer a chance to explore new visions for digital justice, public space, and actions that will make a difference. 

In the midst of the nationwide lockdown, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Germany finds new ways to connect people in its congregations. It encourages all people to step out on balconies or come together by open windows, at 8 pm on Christmas Eve, and let their voices ring out loud in the Christmas carol "Silent Night.”

Au milieu du confinement national causé par la pandémie de COVID-19, l’Église évangélique luthérienne d’Allemagne du Nord trouve de nouveaux moyens de rassembler les membres de ses congrégations. Elle encourage tout le monde à sortir sur les balcons ou à se rassembler devant les fenêtres ouvertes à 20 heures le soir de Noël, et à faire résonner le chant de Noël «Douce nuit, Sainte nuit».
