A su regreso de una visita de solidaridad a Turquía, el secretario general del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), Rev. Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, y el secretario general de ACT Alianza, Rudelmar Bueno de Faria, concedieron una entrevista en vídeo para hablar de lo que vieron y de cómo las iglesias están trabajando juntas, y compartieron sus reflexiones particulares sobre la visita realizada del 4 al 6 de abril, que tuvo lugar durante la Semana Santa occidental.

ÖRK und ACT-Bündnis auf Solidaritätsbesuch in der Türkei sehen große Not, aber auch eine großartige Zusammenarbeit: „Die Kirchen arbeiten alle Hand in Hand“

Nach ihrer Rückkehr von einem Solidaritätsbesuch in der Türkei haben der Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen, Pastor Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, und der Generalsekretär des ACT-Bündnisses, Rudelmar Bueno de Faria, in einem Video-Interview über die einzigartigen Eindrücke während ihres Besuchs vom 4.–6. April während der Karwoche und über die Zusammenarbeit der Kirchen berichtet.

En visite de solidarité en Türkiye, le COE et l’Alliance ACT témoignent de besoins pressants et d’une active collaboration: «les Églises s’unissent dans l’action»

De retour de leur visite de solidarité en Türkiye, le secrétaire général du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE), le pasteur Jerry Pillay, et le secrétaire général de l’Alliance ACT, Rudelmar Bueno de Faria, ont diffusé un entretien vidéo dans lequel ils reviennent sur ce qu’ils ont vu, la manière dont les Églises agissent de concert et leurs propres réflexions sur leur visite qui s’est déroulée pendant la Semaine sainte occidentale, du 4 au 6 avril.

After returning from a solidarity visit to Türkiye, World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay and ACT Alliance general secretary Rudelmar Bueno de Faria appear in a video interview speaking about what they saw, how churches are working together, and their unique reflections on their visit—held 4-6 April—took place during western Holy Week.

Argentinien: „Interreligiöse Solidarität im Dienst einer verwundeten Welt“ ist hoffnungsfroher Aufruf zu Zusammenarbeit

Prof. Dr. h.c. Humberto Martin Shikiya, Vizepräsident des regionalen ökumenischen Zentrums für Beratung und Dienstleistungen (CREAS) in Argentinen, berichtet im folgenden Interview, dass die Publikation „Interreligiöse Solidarität im Dienst einer verwundeten Welt: Ein christlicher Aufruf zum Nachdenken und Handeln während der Corona-Krise und darüber hinaus“ als ein hoffnungsfroher Aufruf zu ökumenischer und interreligiöser Zusammenarbeit wahrgenommen wird. Die gemeinsam vom Ökumenischen Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK) und dem Päpstlichen Rat für den interreligiösen Dialog veröffentlichte Publikation soll Kirchen und christliche Organisationen ermutigen, sich Gedanken darüber zu machen, wie wichtig interreligiöse Solidarität in der von der COVID-19-Pandemie verwundeten Welt ist.

En Argentine, « Servir un monde blessé » est un appel à la collaboration plein d’espoir

Le professeur Dr h.c. Humberto Martin Shikiya, vice-président du Centre œcuménique régional de défense des causes et de service (CREAS) en Argentine, réfléchit à la manière dont le document « Servir un monde blessé dans la solidarité interreligieuse » : un appel chrétien à la réflexion et à l’action pendant la COVID-19 et au-delà » est reçu comme un appel plein d’espoir à la collaboration œcuménique et interreligieuse. Le Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) et le Conseil pontifical pour le dialogue interreligieux ont publié conjointement « Servir un monde blessé » pour encourager les Églises et les organisations chrétiennes à réfléchir à l’importance de la solidarité interreligieuse dans un monde blessé par la pandémie de COVID-19.

In Argentina, “Serving a Wounded World” is a hopeful call to collaborate

Humberto Martin Shikiya, vice president of the Regional Ecumenical Advisory and Service Center (CREAS) In Argentina, reflects on how “Serving a Wounded World in Interreligious Solidarity: A Christian Call to Reflection and Action During COVID-19 and Beyond” is being received as a hopeful call to collaborate ecumenically and interreligiously. The World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue jointly published “Serving a Wounded World” to encourage churches and Christian organizations to reflect on the importance of interreligious solidarity in a world wounded by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As repeat hurricanes threaten, churches offer vital services in Nicaragua, Honduras

Two weeks after Hurricane Eta struck, Nicaragua and Honduras are now bracing for another massive storm, Hurricane Iota. Eta killed at least 120 people in flash floods and mudslides. By 15 November, ahead of Iota’s landfall, some 63,500 people had been evacuated in northern Honduras, and 1,500 people in Nicaragua had been moved from low-lying areas of the country's northeast. Carlos Rauda, a regional officer with ACT Alliance, offers a glimpse of this unfolding situation, and the important role of churches.

Eco-School on Water, Food and Climate Justice

The Ecumenical Water Network (EWN), in collaboration with the WCC Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance (EAA) and WCC’s Economic and Ecological Justice programme, is organising the second edition of the Eco-School for up to 25 young people from Latin America and the Caribbean to discuss the nexus between water, food and climate justice.

Eco-School on Water, Food and Climate Justice

At its first Eco-School on Water, Food and Climate Justice, the WCC's Ecumenical Water Network (EWN) along with its Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance will bring together about 20 young people from the Africa region. Over a period of 10 days, in an ecumenical setting, participants will have the opportunity to study the local, regional, and international manifestations and causes of the water crisis and food security affected by climate change. They will examine the situation and challenges from a perspective of faith and ethics, and search together for possible ecumenical responses to these challenges.
