On Ecumenical International Youth Day, young people gathered online for a collaborative exchange of ideas—a unique kind of “hackathon”—for leading the way toward climate justice.

Con motivo del Día Mundial contra la Trata de Personas, el 30 de julio, el Consejo Mundial de Iglesias y la Federación Luterana Mundial organizaron un seminario web conjunto sobre la trata de seres humanos que dio protagonismo a las voces de los supervivientes.

On World Day Against Trafficking in Persons—30 July—the World Council of Churches and Lutheran World Federation co-hosted a joint webinar on human trafficking that put the voices of survivors first.

"If youth in Africa are united and reconcile with our past, we will be able to confront the stumbling blocks of the continent. If we are patriotic, if we have a passion for Africa, we can transform the continent to be a home and a future for all," said Collins Shava, youth executive secretary for the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), as he reflected on the Africa: My Home. My Future. campaign being undertaken by AACC to inspire young people to be patriotic to their countries and Africa at large by utilizing their talents towards building a thriving continent.

Una selección variada de veintiséis jóvenes designados como stewards para el Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) se reunieron en línea del 14 al 16 de junio de 2021 para participar en una orientación sobre la mayordomía y la formación ecuménica diseñada para generar conocimientos, desarrollar el liderazgo y fortalecer la solidaridad mundial, además de una orientación sobre su participación en las próximas reuniones importantes del CMI.

A diverse selection of 26 young people designated as stewards for the World Council of Churches (WCC) gathered online from 14-16 June 2021 to take part in an orientation of stewardship and ecumenical formation, designed to build awareness, develop leadership, and strengthen global solidarity, as well as an orientation on their participation in upcoming major WCC meetings. 

¿Cuál es nuestro papel como cristianos a la hora de proteger el medio ambiente? A medida que la repercusión del cambio climático se intensifica con el tiempo, los niños y los jóvenes se enfrentan a las consecuencias de nuestros actos. What is our role as Christians in protecting the environment? As the impact of climate change intensifies over time, children and young people are facing the consequences of our actions. This year, the World Council of Churches (WCC) is organizing an online event to observe Ecumenical International Youth Day as a space for young people to discuss climate change. 

Young people have been challenged to envisage a future for the region and work together towards building a dynamic Pacific in preparation for the upcoming WCC 11th Assembly.

An online intergenerational conversation will mark the 50th anniversary of the World Council of Churches (WCC) Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation Programme. Young people will virtually gather with former WCC staff members on 1 July.

Un grupo de veintiséis stewards de todo el mundo se reúnen esta semana en línea para recibir orientación sobre su trabajo durante la próxima reunión del Comité Central del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI). 

Los jóvenes de distintos lugares del mundo se reunirán del 14 al 16 de junio. El programa del encuentro incluye formación ecuménica y una introducción a los procedimientos del Comité Central del CMI, que se reunirá del 23 al 29 de junio. 

 

A group of 26 stewards from all over the world are convening online this week for their orientation into serving during the upcoming World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee meeting. 

The young people from all over the world will meet on 14-16 June for a programme that includes ecumenical formation as well as an introduction into the proceedings of the WCC central committee, which will convene 23-29 June.
