Le Comité consultatif de liaison du COE à Jérusalem s’est réuni pour la première fois à Jérusalem sous la conduite du secrétaire général par intérim du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE), le père prof. Ioan Sauca, pour préparer l’avenir.

“COP27 is a critical occasion for governments to together re-envision, develop, commit to and implement a roadmap towards a fossil fuel-free, post-growth, equitable and sustainable tomorrow,” said Bishop Arnold Temple of the Methodist Church in Sierra Leone, representing the interfaith liaison group, to the High-Level Ministerial Segment of the 27^th Session of Conference of the Parties (COP27).

Under the leadership of World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca, the WCC Jerusalem Liaison Advisory Committee held its first meeting in Jerusalem, during which it mapped future plans. 

Le Conseil œcuménique des Églises et ses partenaires ont coorganisé un événement parallèle à la COP27 sur le thème «Une promesse à tenir: s’assurer de répondre aux besoins en adaptation actuels et à venir». 

Lors d’une prière œcuménique, des personnes de nombreuses confessions se sont réunies pendant la COP27 pour se confesser, exprimer leur déploration et formuler leur espoir en l’avenir. 

During an ecumenical prayer, people of many faiths gathered during COP27 to confess, lament, and express hope for the future. 

The World Council of Churches and its partners hosted a side event during COP27 that explored “Delivering the promise: How to ensure present and future adaptation needs are addressed.”

World Council of Churches acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca expressed great concern in the wake of a 7.3-magnitude earthquake that struck the northern part of Luzon Island in the Philippines on 27 July.

In a joint letter to President Joe Biden, the World Council of Churches (WCC) and ACT Alliance urged that he find ways in which the intended purposes of sanctions can be pursued without harm being inflicted on ordinary Syrians.

In a public statement focused on the Holy Land, the WCC central committee expressed “deep solidarity with the member churches and Christians of the region in their life and work, keeping the Christian faith and witness in the Holy Land alive and vibrant, as well as with all people in the region.”

A l'approche de la Semaine mondiale pour la paix en Palestine et en Israël, en septembre 2022, le Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) invite les personnes et les Églises du monde entier à prier, à plaider et à être solidaires des populations de Terre Sainte.
