El grupo ecuménico incluyó al Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), la Conferencia de Iglesias de Toda África, ACT Alianza, la Asociación de Conferencias Episcopales Miembros de África Oriental, los Ministerios Globales, la Comunidad de Iglesias y Consejos Cristianos de los Grandes Lagos y el Cuerno de África, la Junta General de Ministerios Globales de la Iglesia Metodista Unida y la Ayuda de la Iglesia Noruega.

Der Ökumenische Rat der Kirchen hat eine Delegation geleitet, die vom 18.–22. April den Sudan besucht hat. Zu dieser ökumenischen Gruppe gehörten der Ökumenische Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK), die Gesamtafrikanische Kirchenkonferenz, das ACT-Bündnis, die Vereinigung der Bischofskonferenzen Ostafrikas Global Ministries, die Gemeinschaft christlicher Räte und Kirchen in den Großen Seen und am Horn von Afrika, das General Board of Global Ministries der Vereinigten Methodistischen Kirche und die Norwegische Kirchenhilfe.

In solidarity visit to Sudan, WCC strengthens foundations for peace

The World Council of Churches led a delegation on a visit to Sudan from 18-22 April. The ecumenical group included the World Council of Churches (WCC), All Africa Conference of Churches, ACT Alliance, Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa Global Ministries, Fellowship of Christian Councils and Churches in the Great Lakes and Horn of Africa, General Board Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church, and Norwegian Church Aid. 

Embracing unity, faith, and hope: a conversation with Samson Waweru

Samson Waweru, a visually impaired Kenyan, holds the position of executive director at the Kenya Society for the Blind. In this capacity, he is responsible for executing a comprehensive mandate aimed at assisting blind and visually impaired individuals in Kenya. His focus encompasses areas such as prevention, education, rehabilitation, employment, and overall welfare. Beyond his professional duties, Samson also serves as the vice-chair of the St Cosmas and Damianos Cathedral in Nairobi, showcasing his dedication to both his professional and spiritual obligations.

Pastor Godson Lawson Kpavuvu, president of the Methodist Church of Togo, is also chair of the International Reference Group of the World Council of Churches Ecumenical HIV and AIDS Initiatives and Advocacy programme (WCC-EHAIA). Involved with WCC-EHAIA from the beginning, he reflects below on what its like to be, as he describes, one of the veterans of the struggle.”
