Expressing trauma through art: Yazidi women share stories

In connection with the UN Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Church of Norway, Norwegian Church Aid, Stefanus Alliance, and The Norwegian Council on Religions and Life Stance Communities organized an exhibit and seminar through which Yazidi women expressed their trauma though art therapy and storytelling. 

WCC mourns passing of Rev. Dr John Moyer

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is mourning the death of Rev. Dr John Moyer, Presbyterian minister from Berkeley, California (US), who dedicated his life to ecumenical work. 

WCC sends greetings to Moster Jubilee in Norway celebrating milestone for Christianity

World Council of Churches general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay sent greetings to the gathering for the Moster 2024 Jubilee in Norway on 1 June. I offer a special greeting to Presiding Bishop Olav Fykse Tveit, our former WCC general secretary,” said Pillay. Moster 2024 celebrates the advent of law in Norway, brought in the name of Christianity through King Olav II’s assembly of bishops in Moster a thousand years ago.”

Colombia meetings underscore WCC’s vital role at peacemaking roundtable

World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay met in Bogota, Colombia, with representatives of embassies of Switzerland, Norway, Germany, and the diplomatic service of the European Union for a conversation on the role of the international community in the peace process in the country.
