Im Zusammenhang mit einem aktuellen Aufruf an die Kirchen in aller Welt, zusammenzuarbeiten, um geschlechtsspezifische Gewalt und insbesondere Gewalt gegen Frauen, Kinder und junge Menschen zu verhindern, spricht die Vorsitzende des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen, Dr. Agnes Abuom, im Folgenden über einige der Gründe, warum diese Formen von Gewalt zugenommen haben, und über die wichtige Rolle, die Kirchen bei der Schaffung von sicheren Orten für die gefährdetsten Personen spielen können.

Report shows sanctions against North Korea have adverse effect on women

A report, “The Human Costs and Gendered Impact of Sanctions on North Korea,” presented in Geneva, Switzerland, on 5 November, provides a comprehensive and critical assessment of the impact of sanctions against North Korea. The report, launched during an event co-organized by the Korea Peace Now campaign and the Women`s International League for Peace and Freedom, shows adverse consequences particularly for women.
