Orthodox churches convened in Cyprus this week to prepare for the World Council of Churches (WCC) 11th Assembly, as well as to pray and reflect together on how to keep dialogue open amid the world’s grave challenges.

The contribution—and the very compatibility—of Orthodox churches with the ethos of the ecumenical movement was the fruit of a lively online roundtable held 4 May and formally titled “The Role of the World Council of Churches (WCC) in the 21st Century and the Contribution of the Orthodox Church.”

A team of young communicators began a comprehensive training programme on 1 March to help them prepare for their roles in telling the stories and carrying the messages from the World Council of Churches (WCC) 11th Assembly.
