The second edition of the World Council of Churches (WCC) Eco-School on Water, Food and Climate Justice will be held from 1-12 November 2018 in San Salvador, El Salvador. This year the Eco-School will focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. Applications are now open with a deadline of 31 August 2018.

La segunda edición de la Eco-School del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) sobre justicia hídrica, alimentaria y climática tendrá lugar del 1 al 12 de noviembre en San Salvador, El Salvador. Este año, la ecoescuela se centrará en América Latina y el Caribe. La convocatoria está abierta y el plazo para presentar las solicitudes vence el 31 de agosto de 2018.

Since 2008, EWN has been providing weekly theological reflections and other resources on water for the seven weeks of Lent and for World Water Day on 22 March. This year, the focus is on Latin America.

Desde 2008, la REDA proporciona reflexiones teológicas semanales y otros recursos relacionados con el agua para las siete semanas de Cuaresma y para el Día Mundial del Agua, que se celebra el 22 de marzo. The most severe threat to basic human rights here in the next decades will be the dramatic effects of climate change. To strengthen relationships and support churches in Latin America in their struggles for justice and peace, a pilgrimage of church leaders organized by the WCC will visit Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Colombia from 24 August to 7 September.

The plenary on justice at the WCC 10th Assembly brings into focus the core of its theme “God of life, lead us to justice and peace.” Following on diverse reflections from around the world on Christian unity, Asia and mission, the assembly plenary on 6 November in Busan, Republic of Korea, highlighted struggles for justice.

A book launched in Buenos Aires, Argentina, last month reinforced debate on the theme of eco-theology in Latin America with a direct contribution from the WCC.
