UNAIDS and PEPFAR developed this compendium. WCC collaborated on translating the Executive Summary into French and Portuguese.

Esse relatório vital reúne lições essenciais sobre a excepcional liderança das comunidades religiosas no enfrentamento do desafio do HIV em crianças. Ele documenta as evidências das principais funções que as comunidades religiosas têm desempenhado na identificação de crianças não diagnosticadas que vivem com HIV, melhorando a continuidade do tratamento e apoiando a adesão aos cuidados e ao tratamento. Ele também documenta lições de como as lideranças religiosas têm atuado de forma incisiva para combater o estigma e a discriminação e pressionar para que as metas sejam alcançadas. É um documento feito para ajudar as comunidades religiosas – e as pessoas que as apoiam e fazem parceria com elas – a trazer avanços radicais na busca pela meta de acabar com a AIDS em crianças até 2030.

Um Guia para as Igrejas sobre a Prevenção da Fístula Obstétrica

WCC Human Rights programme

Este guia tem como objetivo sensibilizar igrejas e comunidades religiosas sobre a condição catastrófica que é a fístula obstétrica – uma lesão que ocorre no parto, geralmente devido a trabalhos de parto prolongados e obstruídos que não recebem intervenção médica em tempo hábil. A fístula obstétrica pode ter consequências físicas, emocionais e econômicas devastadoras para as mulheres, podendo inclusive levar a deficiência permanente.

This booklet highlights the lessons learnt in a project, Strategic Engagement of Civil Society Networks and Faith Actors in the HIV Response in Four Countries,  implemented by the World Council of Churches (WCC), with the support of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), from July to December 2022 

This initiative facilitated dialogue between civil society networks, faith actors, and key national HIV stakeholders in the Dominican Republic, India, Indonesia, and Jamaica.

The guide is designed to introduce churches to the issue of killer robots, and help raise awareness of the need for Christians to act to ensure decision-makers agree on a pre-emptive ban on the future development of such weapons.

Tabella di marcia per chiese e comunità per un’economia di vita e per la giustizia ecologica.

“Walk the Talk” si basa sulla pubblicazione del CEC intitolata “Roadmap for Congregations, Communities and Churches for an Economy of Life and Ecological Justice”.  La tabella di marcia è un’eredità del pastore Norman Tendis, scomparso nell’incidente dell’Ethiopian Airlines nel 2019. Tendis era consulente CEC per l’Economia della Vita e dal 2017 al 2019 è stato pastore della Chiesa evangelica luterana in Austria.

Norman, come si legge ancora nel documento, “si è impegnato a costruire un mondo più giusto, sostenibile, come una questione di fede. E credeva che fosse importante iniziare nei nostri cortili. Norman ha contribuito a stabilire ‘Rainbow Land’ – un giardino per rifugiati che circonda una parrocchia a Landskron, dove migranti e richiedenti asilo possono riconnettersi con la terra, promuovere amicizie tra loro e con i vicini e trarre dignità dal lavoro”. Dopo il “Piano d’azione per la giustizia ecologica”, arriva ora questo contributo.

مؤتمر عالمي حول تعزيز السلام يعزز مبدأ "الأسرة الإنسانية الواحدة"

خلال المؤتمر الذي يحمل شعار "تعزيز السلام معاً"، المنعقد بجنيف بتاريخ 21 أيار/ مايو، ركز الزعماء الدينيون على مناقشة وثيقتين تاريخيتين متعلقتين بإحلال السلام. أما الوثيقة الأولى، والتي تحمل عنوان "الأخوة الإنسانية من أجل إحلال السلام العالمي والعيش معاً"، فقد وقعها كل من البابا فرانسيس والإمام الأكبر لمسجد الأزهر الشريف، وذلك بأبوظبي شهر شباط/فبراير المنصرم. أما الوثيقة الثانية، والتي تحمل شعار "التعليم من أجل إحلال السلام في عالم متعدد الديانات: منظور مسيحي"، والتي أعدها كل من المجلس البابوي للحوار بين الأديان ومجلس الكنائس العالمي، فقد نُشرت رسمياً خلال المؤتمر".

قال البابا فرانسيس، بعباراته الخاصة، إن الزيارة المباركة هذا الأسبوع إلى الإمارات العربية المتحدة تمثل "صفحة جديدة في تاريخ الحوار بين المسيحية والإسلام" وفي تعزيز السلام العالمي على أساس الأخوة.

Jürgen Moltmann leads ecumenical reflections in Geneva

At the start of a new year of work at the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva, respected German theologian Jürgen Moltmann led a day-long series of presentations and discussions as a guest of the WCC on Wednesday, 13 January. He also responded to comments and questions on his new book, The Living God and the Fullness of Life (WCC Publications, 2016).
