The World Council of Churches (WCC) expressed the solidarity of its worldwide fellowship with the people of Ukraine while meeting churches and state institutions during a visit to Ukraine from 1 – 5 August.

In an 8 July letter sent to President Joe Biden, World Council of Churches acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca appealed for Biden’s attention to the plight of churches and Christians of the Holy Land.
Biden is scheduled to visit Israel, the West Bank, and Saudi Arabia on 13-16 July.
In a bridge-building visit to member churches in Lebanon, a World Council of Churches (WCC) delegation visited Beirut on 7 July, meeting with church leaders as well as the Middle East Council of Churches to hear and carry a message for the upcoming WCC 11th Assembly, to be held in Karlsruhe, Germany from 31 August-8 September.
"There is a dire need to continually engage church leaders and society at large on how domestic violence can be reduced and brought under control. Thursdays in Black should continue to address and remind us of these problems, especially in the developing countries where gender-based violence prevails more,” said Ebere Ubesie, national president, Student Christian Movement of Nigeria.
Two months before the World Council of Churches (WCC) 11th Assembly, WCC acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca, visited the Church Conference and Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany and informed them about the planning. Sauca also took part in the St John´s Reception of the Evangelical Church in Germany on 22 June.

An assembly leadership meeting is convening at the Bossey Ecumenical Institute from 20-21 June to continue preparing for the WCC 11th Assembly with the delegates and presidents nominated to lead assembly business, assembly committees and thematic plenaries.
