The World Council of Churches (WCC) has set a deadline of 1 June for receiving quilt patches that will become part of a "Waterfall of Solidarity and Resistance" tapestry for display at the WCC 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe.

During a Women’s Pilgrim Team Visit held on 8 March—International Women’s Day—women from North America and other parts of the globe continued to explore the theme “Stony the Road: Women’s Voices of Faith, Courage, Resistance & Resilience.” 

The visit was organized by the World Council of Churches (WCC) in collaboration with the National Council of Churches (USA).

In the lead-up to International Women’s Day, World Council of Churches (WCC) deputy general secretary Prof. Dr Isabel Apawo Phiri offered reflections on “Women, Pain and Resilience from the African and ecumenical perspective.” The webinar, held on 4 March, was organized by the World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations in collaboration with the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue. 

 

A North American Women’s Pilgrim Team Visit on 28 February brought together poetry, prayer, very difficult questions, and, most of all, the impact—and pain—of telling the truth.

As the World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee is convening, many in the world are celebrating St Valentine’s Day.

In her opening remarks at the World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee meeting on 9 February, Dr Agnes Abuom shared landmarks from the past eight years, acknowledged the losses during COVID-19, and celebrated the hope ahead for the WCC 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe, Germany.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee will convene via video conference from 9-15 February to prepare for the 11th WCC Assembly, taking place in August-September in Karlsruhe, Germany under the theme “Christ’s love moves the world to reconciliation and unity.” The WCC governing body will also address business matters and strengthen the WCC fellowship through sharing and prayer.
