Seminar: The Feast of Creation and the Mystery of Creation: Ecumenism, Theology, Liturgy, and Signs of the Times in Dialogue

The World Council of Churches (WCC), with the Laudato Si’ Movement and other partners, will cohost a seminar in Assisi, Italy, on 15-16 March. Entitled "The Feast of Creation and the Mystery of Creation: Ecumenism, Theology, Liturgy, and Signs of the Times in Dialogue,” the event aims to deepen the collective understanding and appreciation of the Feast of Creation, observed on 1 September.

The World Social Forum (WSF) 2024 is scheduled to take place from February 15-19 in Nepal. The WSF serves as an open space and platform for the convergence of a diverse range of participants, including social movements, laborers, farmers, civil society groups, marginalized communities, and those affected by the impacts of neoliberal capitalism and privatization.

Salaam! Que la grâce soit sur vous depuis la Cité Sainte de Jérusalem. En tant que chrétien arabe, je suis heureux de pouvoir écrire une réflexion pour les «Sept semaines pour l’eau» de cette année. Certes, à cause de son climat sec et de la rareté des ressources hydriques, cette région du monde a toujours connu des problèmes d’eau. Mais les difficultés auxquelles sont confrontés les Palestiniens aujourd’hui sont encore plus grandes. La crise actuelle s’aggrave d’année en année.

Sept semaines pour l'eau 2018, week 1: "L'Eau: Don et Source de Vie ", par Ivo Poletto

La première réflexion de la campagne Sept semaines pour l'eau est présentée par le philosophe, théologien et sociologue brésilien Ivo Poletto. Il occupe également le poste de conseiller national auprès du Forum brésilien sur le changement climatique et la justice sociale. Dans cette réflexion, il analyse le cycle de l'eau au Brésil et les «rivières volantes» d'Amazonie. Il déplore également la déforestation rapide, qui perturbe ce cycle et entraîne la disparition des nuages et des aquifères. Il insiste sur le fait que l'eau est l'un des biens communs qui nécessitent une attention toute particulière, car il n'y a pas de vie sans eau.
