Imelda Balan, a Kakchiquel Maya woman, picks ripe coffee beans in San Martin Jilotepeque, Guatemala. Coffee rust, a terrible plant fungus, has affected coffee farms throughout the region. This farm used heavy spraying of chemicals to control the fungus.

During the webinar, participants will be guided through contemplation, action, and advocacy practices, deepening their understanding of Christians' critical role in preserving biodiversity.

The panel of speakers includes:

Blair Nelsen, executive director, Waterspirit

Dr Louk A. Andrianos, Care for Creation, Sustainability, and Climate Justice Consultant, World Council of Churches

Nicholas Pande, Environmental Policy Lead, Anglican Communion

Amy Woolam Echeverria, International Coordinator for Justice, Peace, and Ecology, Missionary Society of St Columban

The event is part of the Season of Creation 2023, happening from 1 September to 4 October, when Christians around the world come together to reflect on the urgent need for environmental stewardship.
