The event will unveil the highly anticipated Season of Creation Celebration Guide, featuring a diverse range of resources that will be translated into various languages. In addition, the guide will provide concrete proposals on how individuals and communities can live the Season of Creation intentionally through prayer, sustainability initiatives, and advocacy.

Under the theme "Let Justice and Peace Flow," the Season of Creation 2023 embraces the powerful symbol of a mighty river. Participants are invited to join the river of justice and peace, becoming advocates for ecological justice while amplifying the voices of communities most affected by climate injustice and biodiversity loss.

The Celebration Guide launch event will be accessible through the official Season of Creation website, where participants can also find additional material on the 2023 theme and the Faith Leaders' Invitation to join the Season.

The Season of Creation seeks to renew and unite Christian communities in recognizing their shared responsibility to care for our common home. The significance of 1 September as a day of prayer for creation for the Orthodox was proclaimed by Ecumenical Patriarch Dimitrios I in 1989. Thanks to the efforts of the World Council of Churches (WCC), in collaboration with “Laudato Si Movement” and other ecumenical partners, this special time has evolved into a season, extending the celebration from 1 September to 4 October (Feast of St. Francis of Assisi).
