On behalf of the World Council Churches I send cordial greetings to you as you, the Buddhist community around the world, celebrates the Vesak festival.

I remember hearing about “Faith and Order” for the first time. I was a freshman in theology reading Fr Georges Florovsky’s biography, and the phrase stuck in my mind.

The World Council of Churches is concerned and saddened to hear about alleged actions taken against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) against the background of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
