En una carta dirigida el 13 de julio al Consejo de Seguridad de las Naciones Unidas, el Diálogo Intereclesial por la Paz en Colombia (DiPaz), plataforma intereclesial para el diálogo por la paz en ese país, hizo un llamado a la comunidad internacional para que inste al gobierno colombiano a que reanude la plena aplicación del acuerdo de paz y fortalezca los canales de diálogo para resolver problemas sociales.

In a 13 July letter to the United Nations Security Council, the Diálogo Intereclesial por la Paz en Colombia (DiPaz), an interchurch platform for dialogue for peace in Colombia, called on the international community to urge the Colombian government to resume the full implementation of the peace agreement and strengthen channels of dialogue to resolve societal issues.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) has just published two new Bible studies penned by authors from Colombia. Both focus on aspects of the WCC Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace.

“We express our deepest concern with regard to the search for peace in Colombia, and we call upon the Colombian government and all armed actors to refrain from targeting social leaders and communities in conflict zones”, said Rev. El Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) está siguiendo de cerca los acontecimientos y reitera su pleno apoyo a quienes están dedicados a trabajar por la paz en el país.

Trotz eines unterzeichneten und ratifizierten Friedensvertrags ist die lange Reise der Regionalkirchen und des ÖRK zur Unterstützung des Friedensprozesses in Kolumbien nach Einschätzung des ÖRK noch nicht zu Ende. Der Vertrag fordert die Kirchen, die Regierung und andere Beteiligte zur Einhaltung der Bedingungen und Zusagen der Vereinbarung auf, damit die Motivation nicht verlorengeht und es nicht wieder zum Aufflammen von Gewalt kommt.

Despite a signed and ratified peace agreement, the long journey of regional churches and the WCC in support of peace in Colombia is not over, says the WCC central committee, which urges churches, governments, and others to press toward fulfillment of the terms and promises of the agreement, to prevent momentum ceasing and violence resurging.

A pesar de un acuerdo de paz firmado y ratificado, el largo viaje de las iglesias de la región y del CMI en apoyo a la paz en Colombia no ha terminado, dice el Comité Central del CMI, que insta a las iglesias, gobiernos y otras partes a presionar para que se cumplan las condiciones y promesas del acuerdo, y así evitar perder el impulso y que vuelva a surgir la violencia.

Malgré la signature et la ratification de l’accord de paix, le long chemin des Églises de la région et du COE pour soutenir la paix en Colombie n’est pas terminé, affirme le Comité central du COE, qui exhorte les Églises, les autorités et les autres parties prenantes à se dépêcher d’honorer les engagements et les promesses de cet accord afin d’éviter que l’élan ne retombe et que les violences reprennent.
