World Council of Churches moderator Bishop Dr Heinrich Bedford-Strohm shared joyful greetings to the All Africa Conference of Churches as it celebrated its 60th birthday and gathered for its assembly. 

The All Africa Conference of Churches will convene its Twelfth General Assembly in Abuja, Nigeria, from 18-23 November under the theme “The Love of Christ Compels us…”

The Global Christian Forum International Committee is convening at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey from 2-5 November. 

The World Council of Churches (WCC) Commission on World Mission and Evangelism began meeting online in October, rooted in the vision of the Arusha Call to Transforming Discipleship. The commission, constituted by the WCC central committee in June, is convening with the understanding that discipleship is both an individual and community calling.

World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay extended greetings to the 2nd Annual Synod Assembly of the Evangelical Christian Church in Halmahera.

Convening at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey from 9-13 October, a steering group will craft a vision for a Faith and Order Nicaea 2025 World Conference. The conference, among other events, will mark the 1,700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea in 2025.

World Council of Churches general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay extended condolences to the churches and people of Qaraqosh, Iraq, after a wedding celebration was struck with a fire that killed 94 people and injured 100 more.
