S. le patriarche Cyrille de Moscou et de toute la Russie le 19 avril, le père Ioan Sauca, secrétaire général par intérim du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) a exhorté le patriarche Cyrille à «intervenir et à demander publiquement un cessez-le-feu au moins pendant quelques heures lors du service de la Résurrection.»

Churches´Commission for Migrants in Europe release European church leaders’ statement on response of Europe to refugees

The Churches' Commission for Migrants in Europe - CCME released a statement that speaks about the response of Europe to refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine. The statement addresses the concerns of discriminatory treatment of non-Ukrainians and minority ethnic people in this context and the more general question that the generosity shown in recent weeks often has not been extended to those fleeing from elsewhere.

On UN International Day of Conscience, WCC officially releases volume “I Belong”

Le père Ioan Sauca, secrétaire général par intérim du Conseil œcuménique des Églises, a réitéré les appels à la libération de deux hiérarques syriens, l’archevêque syrien orthodoxe Yohanna Ibrahim et l’archevêque grec orthodoxe Paul Yazigi, enlevés en avril 2013 près d’Alep, en Syrie.

WCC renews call for release of archbishops of Aleppo

World Council of Churches acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca reiterated calls for the release of two Syrian archbishops, Syriac Orthodox Archbishop Yohanna Ibrahim and Greek Orthodox Archbishop Paul Yazigi, who were kidnapped near Aleppo, Syria in April 2013.
