El arzobispo Rev. Dr. Soritua Albert Ernest Nababan, dirigente ecuménico mundial, falleció el 8 de mayo en Yakarta (Indonesia) a los 87 años. Fue presidente del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) de 2006 a 2013 y sirvió como éforo (arzobispo) de la Huria Kristen Batak Protestan, la iglesia protestante más grande de Indonesia y la mayor iglesia luterana de Asia con cuatro millones de miembros.

WCC mourns loss of Rev. Dr Soritua Albert Ernest Nababan

Archbishop Rev. Dr Soritua Albert Ernest Nababan, a global ecumenical leader, passed away on 8 May in Jakarta, Indonesia, at the age of 88. He was the World Council of Churches (WCC) president from 2006-2013 and served as the former Ephorus (Archbishop) of the Huria Kristen Batak Protestan, the largest Protestant church in Indonesia and the largest Lutheran church in Asia with a membership of 4 million people.

North American conference convenes to “Reclaim Evangelism!”

Nearly 60 participants gathered to reflect on the theme “Reclaim Evangelism!” at the North American 2015 Conference on Evangelism, held 29 October - 2 November in Nashville, Tennessee (U.S.). The conference was organized by the WCC and the NCCUSA, in consultation with the Canadian Council of Churches, and it was hosted by the Discipleship Ministries of the United Methodist Church.

Una innovadora conferencia norteamericana sobre evangelización se reúne para “Reivindicar la evangelización”

Cerca de sesenta participantes se reunieron para reflexionar sobre el tema “Reivindicar la evangelización” en la Conferencia de América del Norte sobre Evangelización de 2015, celebrada del 29 de octubre al 2 de noviembre en Nashville, Tennessee (EE. UU.). La conferencia fue organizada por el CMI y el Consejo Nacional de Iglesias de los Estados Unidos de América, en consulta con el Consejo Canadiense de Iglesias, y con los Ministerios de Discipulado de la Iglesia Metodista Unida como anfitriones.
