The Central Committee of the World Council of Churches (WCC), at its meeting in Trondheim, Norway, 27 June 2016, has elected a new executive committee with 11 new members.

El Comité Central del CMI, en su reunión en Trondheim, Noruega, 27 de junio de 2016, ha elegido un nuevo comité ejecutivo, el que incluye 11 nuevos miembros.

Lors de sa session à Trondheim (Norvège), le Comité central du COE a élu un nouveau Comité exécutif comprenant 11 nouveaux membres.

As participants in a workshop on HIV offered their personal reflections, they shared how their hearts have been deepened and changed by a dialogue facilitated by the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP).

„Ich bin hierhergekommen, um mich über den Unterschied zwischen HIV und AIDS zu informieren und etwas über die Rolle von Frauen und besonders weiblichen Pastoren zu erfahren, die die Menschen in ihrer Gemeinde informieren, sie zu einem selbstbestimmten Umgang mit HIV anleiten und sie über diese Krankheit aufklären“, sagte Pastorin Mary Ann Kadile von der Vereinigten Kirche Christi in den Philippinen. Um an dem HIV-Workshop des Nationalen Kirchenrats der Philippinen (NCCP) teilnehmen zu können, nahm sie die Reise von Mindanao nach San Pablo City auf sich.

“I came here to know the difference between HIV and AIDS, and to distinguish the role of women, especially women pastors, in educating, empowering, and enlightening people in her flock about their view on HIV,” said Rev. Mary Ann Kadile, a pastor from the United Church of Christ in the Philippines. She traveled from Mindanao to San Pablo City, Laguna to participate in a workshop on HIV led by the National Council of Churches in the Philippines.

“Vine aquí para saber la diferencia entre el VIH y el SIDA, y para discernir el papel que tienen las mujeres, especialmente las pastoras, en la formación, la capacitación y la difusión de información entre las personas de sus congregaciones sobre sus perspectivas con respecto al VIH”, explicó la Rev. Mary Ann Kadile, pastora de la Iglesia Unida de Cristo en Filipinas.

«Je suis venue ici pour apprendre la différence entre le VIH et le sida et pour distinguer le rôle spécifique des femmes, en particulier des pasteures, pour éduquer, responsabiliser et éclairer leurs ouailles à propos de leur conception du VIH», déclare la pasteure Mary Ann Kadile, de l’Église unie du Christ aux Philippines. As the 21st Conference of Parties (COP 21) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change came to a close in Paris, a consultation organized by the National Council of Churches in the Philippines and the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance of the WCC on 11 December in Quezon City, Philippines considered “The Right to Food and Life in the Context of Climate Change.”

Some 40 individuals from churches, faith-based groups, community-based organizations, academia and the government will gather in the Philippines on 11 December for a consultation entitled The Right to Food and Life in the Context of Climate Change.

Acogiendo con beneplácito unas elecciones "ampliamente reconocidas como mayormente libres y limpias", el Comité Ejecutivo del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias se ha unido a "las iglesias y a todo el pueblo de Myanmar para celebrar un proceso electoral que se ha desarrollado y completado satisfactoria y pacíficamente". El mensaje fue emitido durante la reunión del Comité Ejecutivo que tuvo lugar del 13 al 18 noviembre en Ginebra, Suiza.

Während des 4. UN-Forums für Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte organisierte der ÖRK in Zusammenarbeit mit dem ACT-Bündnis und dem Lutherischen Weltbund eine Veranstaltung zum Thema „Der Beitrag kirchlicher Organisationen zum Schutz der Landrechte von Gemeinschaften: Erkenntnisse und bewährte Praktiken aus Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika”.

During the 4th United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights, the WCC, in collaboration with the ACT Alliance and Lutheran World Federation, organized a side-event on “Faith-based organizations’ contribution to the protection of communities’ land rights: lessons learnt and good practices from Africa, Asia and Latin America” at the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva.

Au cours du quatrième Forum des Nations Unies sur les entreprises et les droits de l’homme, le COE, en collaboration avec l’Alliance ACT et la Fédération luthérienne mondiale, a organisé une réunion sur le thème: «La contribution des organisations d’inspiration religieuse à la protection des droits fonciers des communautés – Leçons apprises et bonnes pratiques d’Afrique, d’Asie et d’Amérique latine».

"In COP21 we decide whether the glass is half full or half empty, but the glass must be transparent", tweeted climate activist Yeb Saño at the end of a day full of activities engaging leadership and staff members of the WCC, the Lutheran World Federation and ACT Alliance, at the Ecumenical Centre, in Geneva, Switzerland.

Participants in Manilakbazan 2015, called by some the “Lumad caravan”, have come to Manila for a month-long series of activities and protests to bring attention to human rights violations in Lumad communities of the Philippines.
