The World Council of Churches, the Muslim Council of Elders and Rose Castle Foundation are hosting an Emerging Peacemakers Forum for young men and women working in civil society and international organizations, or for influential people in their societies, at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey. Young people who have previous experience in peace-making, conflict resolution, or conflict management, are also invited to apply, in addition to young people who are interested in spreading the values of peace where they live.

Le 7 mars, les participant-e-s à la réunion «Living Together» (Vivre ensemble) à Bagdad, représentant divers groupes religieux et ethniques du pays, se sont entretenu-e-s avec le président irakien, Son Excellence Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, pour lui faire part de leurs préoccupations et des difficultés posées à la diversité religieuse et ethnique en Irak.

Lors de l’ouverture de «Living Together», qui s’est déroulée à Bagdad le 6 mars, des responsables religieux et ethniques d’Irak ont célébré la diversité et abordé avec franchise les entraves à une citoyenneté inclusive. Des représentant-e-s des organes exécutifs et législatifs irakiens, des agences des Nations unies et de différentes ambassades ont également participé à cet événement.

On 7 March, participants of the “Living Together” meeting in Bagdad representing various religious and ethnic groups of the country met with the president of Iraq His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, presenting their concerns and challenges for religious and ethnic diversity in Iraq.

As a “Living Together” celebration in Bagdad opened on 6 March, religious and ethnic leaders from Iraq celebrated diversity and, at the same time, candidly addressed challenges to inclusive citizenship. They were joined by representatives of Iraqi executive and legislative authorities as well as representatives from UN agencies and embassies.
