Colombian delegation calls upon international community to revive “vital support”

As a group of three laureates of the “National Human Rights Award in Colombia” engaged in meetings with diplomats and United Nations representatives in Geneva, a tray lunch event was organized on 8 June at the Ecumenical Centre by the World Council of Churches and ACT Alliance to offer the delegation the opportunity to share about the deterioration of the peace process in the country and the importance of international solidarity.

WCC responds to false reporting in Germany on Israel and Palestine

In a response to false reporting in Germany on Israel and Palestine, World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca reiterated the WCCs history of denouncing antisemitism and, at the same time, responding to the experiences and suffering of Palestinians.

WCC, Religions for Peace will release joint message on statelessness: “Belonging—Affirmations for Faith Leaders’

The World Council of Churches (WCC) and Religions for Peace will issue on 9 May a joint message on statelessness, Belonging—Affirmations for Faith Leaders”.

The document is one of the most recent fruits of WCC work that has been ongoing for more than a decade around the issue of statelessness. It is currently available in English, French, Spanish and Arabic.

They spoke of the deterioration of the peace process in the country and the importance of international solidarity.

ÖRK fordert Patriarch Kyrill nachdrücklich auf: „Schreiten Sie ein und fordern Sie öffentlich eine Waffenruhe während des Auferstehungsgottesdienstes“

In einem Brief an Seine Heiligkeit  Patriarch Kyrill  von Moskau und ganz Russland vom 19. April hat der geschäftsführende Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK), Priester Prof. Dr. Ioan Sauca, Patriarch Kyrill aufgefordert, „einzuschreiten und öffentlich eine Waffenruhe für wenigstens einige Stunden während des Auferstehungsgottesdienstes zu  fordern.“
