Participants will discover the six-week Lent course that blends theological insights with practical knowledge about modern slavery. It includes facts, case studies, Bible readings, reflections, and actionable points to deepen the understanding and inspire action against slavery.

Kenneth Mtata, WCC programme director for Public Witness and Diakonia, and Bishop Alastair Redfern of The Clewer Initiative will lead the webinar. Together, they will shed light on the pressing issue of modern slavery and illustrate how True Freedom can be a potent tool in raising awareness and inspiring action within communities.

This webinar offers a unique opportunity for Christians to explore how True Freedom can be effectively utilised in various settings – from churches to personal endeavours. We invite you to join us on to gain insights from real-life testimonials and to learn how the resource can support you,” highlights Mtata.

Bishop Alastair Redfern, chair of The Clewer Initiative and one of the writers of the course, comments: True Freedom has huge potential to inspire churches around the world to wake up and consider how they can practically tackle modern slavery in their communities. To help church leaders and individuals make the most of this incredible new resource, we are hosting a one-off webinar to walk people through the six-week course, share our thoughts on how best to use it and provide space for questions and reflection. I would urge anyone who cares about the most vulnerable in their community to sign up for the webinar so they can find out more about this unique course.”

The webinar will provide interpretation in Spanish.
