The World Council of Churches central committee meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, 21-27 June 2023

This is the first full meeting of the WCC central committee following the WCC 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe. Every central committee meeting is a unique opportunity to strengthen the witness of the WCC as living fellowship. In addition to the 150 members and 8 presidents elected in Karlsruhe, the central committee has advisors from ecumenical partners and churches that are not members of the WCC.

The agenda of the meeting includes developing the strategic direction and programmatic response to the assembly as a pilgrimage of justice, reconciliation and unity. The central committee will adopt a strategic plan to guide the work of the council until the next assembly, as well as a financial strategy and communications strategy to support the work of the council.

Central committee will also address emerging issues affecting the life and witness of the churches. A series of pilgrimage plenaries will engage the central committee in addressing the unity and mission of the church and the call to act for justice and reconciliation as inspired by the assembly.
