Linking with the theme of 68th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, “Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective”, this hybrid session will bring a range of perspectives to bear on the questions: What can we do to address extreme wealth concentration? How can taxing the richest in our societies as well as addressing corporate tax evasion serve to advance the goal of gender equity? And why should faith-based organisations care?

The World Social Forum (WSF) 2024 is scheduled to take place from February 15-19 in Nepal. The WSF serves as an open space and platform for the convergence of a diverse range of participants, including social movements, laborers, farmers, civil society groups, marginalized communities, and those affected by the impacts of neoliberal capitalism and privatization. 

This workshop will sensitize engaged young people and future church leaders to the prevailing gender inequities on social media and equip a core group of young people and church communicators to advocate for gender justice in social media and other online spaces. 

How have churches or Christian communities been involved or implicated in disinformation or misinformation? What could churches do to prevent these cases? What concrete steps should be taken to engage against disinformation/misinformation?

An online workshop, “How to be a digital justice advocate”, will help people delve deeper into how to respond to the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.

A conference focusing on water for human rights and sustainable development will be held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland and online on 3-4 November.
