Bei der Betrachtung der Themen Gesundheit und Wohlergehen bekräftigen wir als Menschen und Kirchen christlichen Glaubens, dass der Lebensspender und -bewahrer unser Herr Jesus Christus ist, das heilende Element für unsere Körper und Seelen, der uns von unseren Gebrechen heilt, unser Leben vom Verderben erlöst und uns mit Gnade und Barmherzigkeit krönt (Psalm 103;3-4).

Theological education in Africa promotes social transformation

A Theological Education by Extension programme in Africa aims to reach many people who can collectively drive social transformation. This was affirmed during the All Africa Theological Education by Extension Association 5th Quadrennial Conference in Kigali, Rwanda, 24-28 October.

Religious leaders in Zimbabwe participate in male engagement workshop

Religious leaders are the ultimate game changers in mobilizing men and boys to provide effective responses to HIV, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and gender-based violence, and to promote comprehensive sexuality education. This was an important message from a training of trainers workshop in Harare, Zimbabwe, on 29 September. As they are rooted in community, respected, and influential, religious leaders are well-placed to promote men’s uptake of services, said local experts.

Gathered at a time when wars and conflicts have emerged one after the other, socioeconomic situations in various countries have deteriorated, and greed for power and wealth has manifested, putting people's and the planet's welfare in danger. Hate, discrimination, injustice, exclusion, and various forms of dehumanization have plagued society and put lives at risk. Faced with difficult situations, the assembly appears as a new garden plot where seeds and plants of all kinds are cultivated, seeds of hope, dreams, and visions for a better world.
