Latin American ecumenical gathering to focus on eco-justice and peace building

More than 30 young adults coming from different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean will gather in Colombia to reflect and plan actions on eco-justice and peace building. “Young people for Eco-Justice and Peace: The challenge that we accept” will be organized by the World Student Christian Federation in Latin America and the Caribbean (WSCF – LAC), a partner of the World Council of Churches (WCC), in Barranquilla, from 15-18 August.

Christian youth campaign demands justice for Mexico’s missing students

Young students from the Mexico’s Student Christian Movement “MEC por la Equidad” and the World Student Christian Federation in Latin America and the Caribbean have called upon churches, ecumenical bodies and the international community to show support for the families of 43 students from Ayotzinapa, who went missing following a student protest in Iguala, Mexico, on the evening of 26 September.

Voices against violence at World Youth Day in Rio

Youth representing ecumenical networks have been vocal in addressing social, economic and environmental issues at the World Youth Day, a Roman Catholic Church event, which gathered more than a million participants in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
