The Pacific sees the smallness of region as a strength, not a weakness

“The Pacific is a large ocean region, and we see the smallness of our region as a strength not a weakness. Amidst the vulnerability our islands experience to climate change, geopolitical and neo-colonialism, we affirm our resilience as a gift of God, rooted in our Indigenous wisdom and celebrated as spirituality of abundance and hospitality,” said Iemaima Vaai, representing the Methodist Church of Samoa and youth advisor to the World Council of Churches (WCC) in her shared message to the central committee, on behalf of the Pacific region.

The launch of a new book, "Penser les relations écologiques en théologie à l'ère de l'Anthropocène" (Eng: "Reflecting on Ecological Relations in Theology in the Anthropocene Era"), will take place during the second seminar on eco-theology on 5th July from 18:00 to 20:00 at the Salle II and III in Ecumenical Centre in Geneva.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Ecumenical and Francophone Seminar on Theology of Ecology will cohost a seminar from 5-7 July at the Ecumenical Center in Geneva.

The fifth edition of the World Council of Churches (WCC) Eco-School on Water, Food, and Climate Justice, will be held 24-31 July in Crete, Greece. Convening in-person in the Orthodox Academy of Crete, Greece, the event is open to young people under 30 years of age from the Europe and  North America region only.
