Dans le cadre de son large mandat, il lui revient de soutenir les personnes aveugles et malvoyantes au Kenya. Il se concentre sur des domaines tels que la prévention, l’éducation, la réadaptation, l’emploi et le bien-être dans son ensemble. Samson est également vice-président de la Cathédrale des saints Côme et Damien à Nairobi, illustration de son attachement à ses obligations tant professionnelles que spirituelles.

Embracing unity, faith, and hope: a conversation with Samson Waweru

Samson Waweru, a visually impaired Kenyan, holds the position of executive director at the Kenya Society for the Blind. In this capacity, he is responsible for executing a comprehensive mandate aimed at assisting blind and visually impaired individuals in Kenya. His focus encompasses areas such as prevention, education, rehabilitation, employment, and overall welfare. Beyond his professional duties, Samson also serves as the vice-chair of the St Cosmas and Damianos Cathedral in Nairobi, showcasing his dedication to both his professional and spiritual obligations.

Wind of change blows at Africa’s leading ecumenical body

A wave of change is blowing at the All Africa Conference of Churches, as the African ecumenical body implements a new five-year strategic plan. In an ambitious six pillar road map, the grouping of Protestant, Anglican, Orthodox, and indigenous churches has unveiled completely new areas of work, as it moves to inject new energy into older programmes. At the core of the strategy is effectiveness, efficiency and reliability for the ecumenical body, which is keen to deliver on its prophetic mission.

Un vent de changement souffle sur la principale instance œcuménique d’Afrique

Un vent de changement souffle sur la Conférence des Églises de toute l’Afrique (CETA) avec la mise en œuvre d’un nouveau plan stratégique quinquennal.
Dans une ambitieuse feuille de route en six points, ce regroupement d’Églises protestantes, anglicanes, orthodoxes et autochtones a dévoilé des axes de travail totalement nouveaux en vue d’insuffler une énergie nouvelle aux programmes existants. Au cœur de la stratégie: l’efficacité, l’efficience et la fiabilité de l’instance œcuménique, soucieuse de s’acquitter de sa mission prophétique.

Eco-School on Water, Food and Climate Justice

At its first Eco-School on Water, Food and Climate Justice, the WCC's Ecumenical Water Network (EWN) along with its Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance will bring together about 20 young people from the Africa region. Over a period of 10 days, in an ecumenical setting, participants will have the opportunity to study the local, regional, and international manifestations and causes of the water crisis and food security affected by climate change. They will examine the situation and challenges from a perspective of faith and ethics, and search together for possible ecumenical responses to these challenges.
