Fast for the Climate

The Fast for the Climate campaign is an interfaith initiative bringing people of different faiths to fast, as a spiritual exercise, in solidarity with the victims of climate change. People are invited to fast the 1st of each month. The WCC is one of the co-sponsors of this initiative.

Seminar: Together Towards Life

The 4-day seminar, Seeking Renewal of Spirit and Fullness of Life for All Creation as Witnessing Communities, contributes to the quest for ‘ecumenical discernment to seek vision, concepts and directions for a renewed understanding and practice of mission and evangelism in changing a landscape’ as is stated in the World Council of Churches statement on Mission and Evangelism Together Towards Life: Mission and Evangelism in Changing Landscapes presented in November 2013 during the 10th WCC Assembly.

Women's pilgrimage towards justice and peace

09 - 13 June 2014

This training workshop will provide a space for dialogue on how men and women can contribute towards building peaceful communities. It will add to the efforts of women contributing towards an “ecumenical pilgrimage of justice and peace” consistent with a call from the WCC 10th Assembly in 2013.

Central Committee meeting

18 - 24 June 2025

The Central Committee serves as the chief governing body of the WCC until the next assembly, meeting every 2 years. It is responsible for carrying out the policies adopted by the Assembly, reviewing and supervising WCC programmes and the budget of the Council.

Executive Committee meeting

06 - 11 June 2024

The 25-person Executive Committee is the WCC governing body, with members from churches in every region, meeting twice a year to monitor ongoing work, supervise the budget and deal with policy matters referred to it by the WCC Central Committee.
