The 26th Pentecostal World Conference, is taking place in Seoul, South Korea from 12-14 October, hosted by the Yoido Full Gospel Church, the world’s largest Pentecostal congregation.

World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca is visiting the Korean Peninsula this week, bringing greetings of solidarity to WCC member churches, meeting with former WCC Asian president Rev. Participants in a 7-11 December consultation on ecumenical diakonia held in Seoul, South Korea, didn’t just talk about the important concept of service. They also took time to visit local projects where Korean Christians are fleshing out their call to actively practice diakonia in the communities they serve.

The WCC 10th Assembly in Busan, Republic of Korea, concluded on 8 November, acting to inspire churches to renew their commitments to justice and peace. Through varied encounters and dialogue within the fellowship of churches, the Assembly has made concrete decisions and recommendations setting priorities for the future work of the WCC.

Today the WCC10th Assembly featured a mission plenary. The plenary session presented an action-oriented reflection based on the new WCC mission statement: Together Towards Life: Mission and Evangelism in Changing Landscapes. The plenary sought to highlight the common challenges and opportunities for mission in the current global context.
