WCC advisory group to promote gender justice

A gender advisory group representing member churches of the WCC has begun working by developing procedures and policies to help the WCC in accomplishing gender justice in institutions, communities and societies – an objective lying at the core of its vision of a “pilgrimage of gender justice”.

Bishop Eva Brunne from Stockholm is one of three Swedes on the Central Committee of the WCC, which met in Geneva 2-8 July. “The Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace” became the central focus of the Committee’s work.

Assembly renews churches’ commitment towards justice and peace

The WCC 10th Assembly in Busan, Republic of Korea, concluded on 8 November, acting to inspire churches to renew their commitments to justice and peace. Through varied encounters and dialogue within the fellowship of churches, the Assembly has made concrete decisions and recommendations setting priorities for the future work of the WCC.

La X Asamblea del CMI, celebrada en Busan, República de Corea, terminó el 8 de noviembre animando a las iglesias a renovar sus compromisos con la justicia y la paz. A través de múltiples encuentros y diálogos entre los miembros de la comunidad de iglesias, la Asamblea ha adoptado decisiones y recomendaciones concretas que establecen las prioridades para la labor futura del CMI.
