New book available: “Ahead of Her Time: Pan-African Women of Faith and the Vision of Christian Unity, Mission, and Justice”

A new book, "Ahead of Her Time: Pan-African Women of Faith and the Vision of Christian Unity, Mission, and Justice,” authored by World Council of Churches (WCC) president from North America Rev. Dr Angelique Walker-Smith, debuted on 1 November, All Saints Day, during an online and in-person reception and awards ceremony of pan-African women of faith represented in the book. The event took place at Bread for the World (USA) in Washington, DC.

As founding member of CoNGO, WCC cites urgent need for multilateralism

During a presentation at the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO) on 27 October, Peter Prove, director of the World Council of Churches Commission of the Churches on International Affairs, reflected on why the world desperately needs multilateralism. 

WCC shares resources with Korean Christians on climate-responsible banking for children

On 27 October Korean Theology Forum on Climate Crisis organized a conference The Response of the WCC to the Climate Crisis and its Policy for Carbon Neutrality” for the formation of church leaders, pastors and students interested in ways to connect local activities to the global horizon. The conference was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the Republic of Korea.

WCC guide raises awareness of obstetric fistula

A new guide published by the World Council of Churches (WCC) aims to raise awareness in churches and church communities of the role they can play in the prevention of the catastrophic condition of obstetric fistula, a childbirth injury usually caused by prolonged, obstructed labour without timely medical intervention.

أعرب مجلس الكنائس العالمي (WCC) عن غضبه وصدمته إزاء الأنباء عن غارة جوية على المستشفى الأهلي في غزة. وقال الأمين العام لمجلس الكنائس العالمي القس الدكتور" جيري بيلاي": "آلاف الفلسطينيين، الذين فقدوا منازلهم، كانوا يتخذون من المستشفى الذي تديره الكنيسة الأنجليكية ملجأ لهم. ويعتبر هذا الهجوم بمثابة عقوبة جماعية، التي تُعد جريمة حرب بموجب القانون الدولي".
