Faith community issues call to action: end AIDS by 2030

At an interfaith prayer service on 7 June, people from diverse faith communities issued a call to action to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. The call focuses on reducing stigma and discrimination; increasing access to HIV services; defending human rights; and ensuring testing and treatment for all, including children.

North American conference convenes to “Reclaim Evangelism!”

Nearly 60 participants gathered to reflect on the theme “Reclaim Evangelism!” at the North American 2015 Conference on Evangelism, held 29 October - 2 November in Nashville, Tennessee (U.S.). The conference was organized by the WCC and the NCCUSA, in consultation with the Canadian Council of Churches, and it was hosted by the Discipleship Ministries of the United Methodist Church.

Environ une soixantaine de participants se sont réunis pour mener une réflexion sur le thème «Reprendre possession de l’évangélisation!» lors de la Conférence nord-américaine sur l’évangélisation 2015, qui s’est tenue du 29 octobre au 2 novembre à Nashville, dans le Tennessee, aux États-Unis. Organisée par le COE et le Conseil national des Églises – États-Unis en concertation avec le Conseil canadien des Églises, la conférence était accueillie par les Ministères des disciples de l’Église méthodiste unie.

UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, this week invited 20 of its major partners from the private sector and civil society to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The WCC general secretary represented faith based-organizations at a high-level breakfast in New York hosted by the UN agency.
