Le jeune Abu El Walid Dajani, six ans, est venu prêter main-forte à son père dans la gestion du New Imperial Hotel près de la porte de Jaffa, à Jérusalem. La bâtisse historique, propriété du Patriarcat orthodoxe grec, est louée depuis avant 1967 à la famille Dajani pour assurer la gestion de l’hôtel. M. Dajani, aujourd’hui âgé de 77 ans, en est devenu le directeur. Or, la menace d’expulsion bouleverse le mode de vie que la famille a connu depuis des générations.

As a six-year-old boy, Abu El Walid Dajani began helping his father manage the New Imperial Hotel near Jaffa Gate, Jerusalem. The historic property is owned by the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, and leased before 1967 to the Dajani family to run as a hotel.  Now 77, Dajani has become the manager. But the threat of eviction is derailing a way of life his family has known for generations.
