Pellegrinaggio ecumenico: il vescovo Farrell aspetta con impazienza la visita di Papa Francesco al CEC

Il vescovo Brian Farrell è stato una figura fondamentale nella scena ecumenica sin dalla sua nomina come segretario del Pontificio consiglio per la promozione dell’unità dei cristiani nel 2002.
Ha sempre preso parte ai principali eventi del CEC, inclusa l’ultima Assemblea in Corea del Sud e la recente Conferenza mondiale sulla missione e l’evangelizzazione in Tanzania.
In vista della visita papale a Ginevra, il vescovo Farrell riflette sul “cambiamento di ritmo e di stile nella totalità del nostro impegno ecumenico” che è avvenuto sotto Papa Francesco.

Konrad Raiser shares ecumenical journey of transformation

Rev. Dr Konrad Raiser has been on an ecumenical journey for most of his adult life, which spans 80 years. The former WCC general secretary relates some of this pilgrimage in his newest publication, “The Challenge of Transformation: An Ecumenical Journey.” On 5 February, shortly after Raiser’s birthday, ecumenical experts from different generations, confessions and continents met in Geneva to discuss the newest publication by the man who led the WCC from 1993 to 2003.

The adoption of consensus decision-making for WCC meetings was proposed in 2002. Dr Jill Tabart of the Uniting Church in Australia was consensus mentor as these new meeting procedures were introduced at the 9th Assembly and beyond.
