Una delegación del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) encabezada por el secretario general del CMI, Rev. Prof. Dr. Pillay, visitó esta semana las ciudades de Nueva York y Washington D.C. y se reunió con representantes de las Naciones Unidas, con el nuncio papal, con el Consejo Nacional de Iglesias de América del Norte, y con otros líderes eclesiásticos, organizaciones ecuménicas y autoridades estatales.

Prof. Dr Pillay visited New York City and Washington, DC this week, meeting with United Nations representatives, the Papal Nuncio, the National Council of Churches in North America, other church leaders, and ecumenical organizations and state officials.

A World Council of Churches (WCC) delegation, led by WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay, is visiting the USA this week, traveling to New York City as well as Washington, D.C. to bring together ecumenical leadership.

A World Council of Churches (WCC) delegation will visit New York City and Washington, D.C. 18-21 July with the goal of strengthening collaboration and partnerships.

“Hay algo que siempre les digo a jóvenes como ustedes cuando empiezan el programa de stewards – sean muy cuidadosos porque la exposición al virus ecuménico es alucinante y comienzan a pensar sobre la iglesia de una forma muy diferente– y eso no es malo”, señaló el Rev. Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, secretario general del CMI, en su discurso de bienvenida a los jóvenes de todas partes del mundo que el 16 de junio fueron acogidos en el Centro Ecuménico como stewards en preparación de la próxima reunión del Comité Central que tiene lugar del 21 al 27 de junio en Ginebra.  

 “There’s one thing I always say to young people when you start off in the stewards programme– be very careful, because the ecumenical bug gets you as this is a mind blowing exposure and you start to think about the church in a very different way – and this is not a bad thing", remarked World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay in his welcoming address to the young people from all over the world who were welcomed at the Ecumenical Centre on 16 June as stewards, in preparation for the upcoming central committee which is taking place 21-27 June in Geneva. 

The World Council of Churches (WCC) will host at the Ecumenical Center a Global Summit on Gender Equality in Nationality Laws—organized by the Global Campaign for Equal Nationality Rights, UNHCR, UNICEF, and UN Women—on 13 June.

El Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) aportó perspectivas y participó en el diálogo en la preasamblea de jóvenes del Consejo Nacional de Iglesias de la India (NCCI), celebrada del 17 al 19 de abril en Hyderabad.

La preasamblea de jóvenes, organizada por el Centro para la Paz de la India, se celebró bajo el tema “Ha llegado la hora: la hora de que la juventud construya un mundo de paz y sostenibilidad”.
