The side-event will be an opportunity to explore how taxation and reparations can contribute to “Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality,” the theme of the 2019 High-Level Political Forum on the SDGs (08-17 July 2019, New York). Rising inequality – often rooted in historical injustices – and runaway climate change are fuelling poverty, social disintegration and conflicts around the world.

The 6th edition of this conference is held under the Auspices of His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I and with the support of the World Council of Churches (WCC) programme on Care for Creation, sustainability and climate justice (Ecological and Economic Justice)

Held at the Ecumenical Institute Bossey, the consultation on "Green Reformation: Eco-Theology, Education and the Future of the Church" takes place from 12 to 15 May 2019.

During the week of 18-25 January, we celebrate two important events: the Week of Action to Fight Inequality and the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity which has as its theme for 2019, “justice and only justice you shall pursue” (Deuteronomy 16, 18-20). As Christians, we are a diverse, worldwide family. Jesus calls us to be the light of the world, to preach the good news to those that have less. Where can our worldwide network serve as a light in a world of tremendous inequalities? Where can the Holy Spirit help us to come together as one and discover our potential for enacting change?

On Tuesday, 29 January 29 2019, the Fifth Annual Symposium on the Role of Religion and Faith-based Organizations in International Affairs will focus on financing for sustainable development and build on this vision of an economy of life as the flourishing of all life. Panel discussions will consider the broad issues of economic justice as addressed in the course of human rights-based development, governance and accountability in the global financial architecture, the implications for environmental sustainability, gender justice and financing social protection.

How can I be connected with God at work for inspiration and orientation? How can spirituality strengthen to live faith and values in daily professional decisions? How is spirituality in the modern cyber-world 4.0 of constant global connectivity possible? What kind of tools can be implemented in the company? After the first, successful such conference in January 2018 in Geneva, this conference brings again Associations of Christian entrepreneurs from all continents together to learn from each other, to connect to each other and to further cooperate in implementing the “Faith in Business Geneva Declaration” of 2018.

In order to strengthen the voice of the churches with regards to global economics, a group of 20 current and future leaders representing the churches will have the opportunity to attend the Ecumenical School on Governance, Economics and Management (GEM) for an Economy of Life in Jakarta, Indonesia from 19-30 August 2019.

The Global Day of Prayer to End Famine hopes to unite ecumenical partners and faith communities all over the world as a prayerful and spiritual movement to: encourage prayer, reflection and action with information and suggestions; bring awareness regarding famine’s impact on the most vulnerable children and families and to help address its root causes; connect with church-related and other humanitarian organizations that are currently working to bring immediate relief and positive long-term change so children and families can live out God’s aspiration for a dignified, peaceful and violence-free future; help communities and congregations to uphold each other in prayer and support, by sharing experiences, challenge and solutions.

La Journée mondiale de prière pour mettre fin à la famine espère unir les partenaires œcuméniques et communautés de foi du monde entier dans un mouvement spirituel fondé sur le recueillement qui poursuit plusieurs objectifs: encourager la prière, la réflexion et l’action par des informations et des suggestions; faire connaître les répercussions de la famine sur les enfants et les familles les plus vulnérables et permettre de s’attaquer aux causes profondes de la famine; établir des relations avec des organisations humanitaires, rattachées à des Églises ou autres, qui travaillent actuellement à apporter des secours immédiats et des changements positifs à long terme pour que les enfants et les familles puissent vivre l’aspiration voulue par Dieu à un avenir dans la dignité et la paix et à l’abri de la violence; aider les communautés et les paroisses à se soutenir mutuellement dans la prière et l’entraide en mettant en commun leurs expériences, leurs défis et leurs solutions.

Jointly organized by the World Council of Churches, World Communion of Reformed Churches, Council for World Mission and Lutheran World Federation, the 3rd meeting of the Ecumenical Panel on a NIFEA will take place in New York from 21-22 April 2018.

The faith-based response to HIV and AIDS has become more visible and integrated because of the increased engagement and coordination of faith-based representatives over the past International AIDS Conferences. A range of faith-based activities are now being planned for AIDS 2018 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 23-27 July 2018.
