ÖRK-Exekutivausschuss „denkt die Zukunft neu“ und schöpft Hoffnung

Als sich der Exekutivausschuss des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK) am 12. November zum ersten Mal seit zwei Jahren in Form einer Präsenzveranstaltung versammelt hat, begann das Leitungsgremium seine Beratungen mit einer neuen positiven Zukunftsperspektive auf Trends und Chancen, die sich aus den so kummervollen Erfahrungen mit der COVID-19-Pandemie ergeben können. Die Veranstaltung findet im Hybridformat sowohl am Ökumenischen Institut in Bossey als auch in Form einer Videokonferenz statt.

WCC executive committee “reimagining the future” with a sense of hope

As the World Council of Churches (WCC) executive committee convened on 12 November—face-to-face for the first time in two years—the governing body began its deliberations with a sense of reimagining the future by tracing some positive trends and opportunities born out of the grief-filled COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting is taking place in a hybrid fashion at the Bossey Ecumenical Institute and on video conference.

WCC hosts interface conference in Berlin on role of churches, faith communities in health and healing

The World Council of Churches (WCC) hosted an interface conference on 13 October between the WCC, EKD, German Federal Foreign Office, Trans-Atlantic Network and Berlin-based diplomats to discuss the vital role that the WCC, churches and faith communities around the globe play in advancing peoples health and healing, particularly in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Der Ökumenische Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK) veranstaltete am 13. Oktober eine Schnittstellenkonferenz zwischen ÖRK, EKD, dem deutschen Auswärtigen Amt, dem Transatlantiknetzwerk und in Berlin ansässigen Diplomatinnen und Diplomaten, um über die wichtige Rolle zu sprechen, die der ÖRK, die Kirchen und die Glaubensgemeinschaften weltweit bei der Förderung von Gesundheit und Heilung, vor allem im Hinblick auf die Nachwirkungen der COVID-19-Pandemie, spielen.

Key issues concerning the food system include how food production affects the natural environment, the impact of food on individual and population health, the governance and economics of food production, its sustainability, and the degree to which we waste food.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) and the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) met on 25 August in Geneva to explore and discuss possible areas of future cooperation.

The two organizations shared current plans and discussed possibilities for closer collaboration on thematic areas such as advocacy and peace building, the climate emergency, and membership matters.
